Supporting Families During COVID-19

March 24, 2020

Greetings Family and Partners,

As you are aware, there are many who may be experiencing a high level of anxiety and challenges during this time. Recently, Governor Newsom made a public announcement that parents should assume that schools will remain closed for the rest of the school year and not be back in session until Fall 2020. This means that parents may be expected to homeschool their children between now and then. Also, Governor Newsom announced that his office is working with utility companies and other entities to ensure that families are protected by having an extension for payment of utilities, rent, etc. There are also resources for small business owners who need support during COVID-19 through the small business administration (SBA).

HOW YOU CAN SUPPORT BEYOND COVID-19?

  • We anticipate that even after COVID-19, many families will continue to be impacted financially as well as in other ways. Unfortunately, at this point, we are not sure what additional announcements will come from a country, state, or national level, regarding this pandemic/. As a result, we will need to be prepared to support families even more than we currently are. You can support by investing in wthe work of Healthy Black Families, Inc. We understand that it takes a village to support community and continue to meet the needs of families.
