We’ve Moved! Support Our New Space for Community
Healthy Black Families, Inc. has officially moved into our new home in the commercial space on the ground floor of the Maudelle Shirek building at the corner of Ashby and Adeline as of April 01, 2025. As we plant new roots, it is our intention to create a culturally rich space to anchor our beloved and vibrant South Berkeley community.
This milestone is a testament to our community’s collective vision, advocacy, and effort—and we extend our heartfelt thanks to Resources for Community Development, the African American Holistic Resource Center, Runo Okiomah, and many more community partnerships for their contributions to making this possible.
Your donations and continued support will allow this to be a space where community feels at home and is educated, engaged, and activated around the issues most important to sustaining and growing a beloved community.
We are also honored to house The Hursel and Vicki Alexander Library on Revolutionary Theory, Culture, and Practice in this new space. This will be a rich educational resource that we hope to share widely within our local community, the region, and beyond. Your support will help us curate this space as a welcoming, interactive environment where young people, families, and elders can come together to learn about the power of people, resistance, activism, and organizing.
Will you embrace the opportunity to support this new chapter in HBF’s legacy of community-rooted service with a generous donation?
We hope your answer is a resounding “YES!” — and thank you in advance.
